The 2008 PBEA recipient of the Large Company category (with more that 2,500 employees) is FedEx Ground. The other finalist for this category was Nova Chemicals.
The 2008 PBEA recipient of the Medium-Sized Company category (with 250 - 2,500 employees) is MARC USA. Other finalists for this category were Acusis, Massaro Corporation, and Smail Auto Group.
The 2008 PBEA recipient of the Small Company category (with less than 250 employees) is Handee Marts. Other finalists for this category were Lexus of North Hills and TriLogic Corporation.
The 2008 PBEA recipients may now enter into the American Business Ethics Award sponsored by the National Society of FSPTM. The local PBEA recipient of the Medium-Sized Company category for 2005, MEDRAD, Inc. chose this path and went on to become the national winner.
The judges for this year’s Pittsburgh Business Ethics Awards were: C. Daniel Baker of U.S. Steel; Perry Minnis of Alcoa, Inc.; Richard Roda of MSA Corp.; Jan Wachter, Ph.D. of Indiana University of PA; Eden Fisher, Ph.D. of Carnegie Mellon University; and Roxanne Turner of Kennametal, Inc.
In addition to the awards, the event featured keynote speaker Paul H. O’Neill, former Secretary of the U.S. Treasury, and Alcoa Chairman and CEO from 1987 to 1999.
