Membership Eligibility

 

Regular Membership

The Society of FSPs' mission is to advance the professionalism of credentialed members in diverse disciplines so that they may better serve their clients' financial needs.

 

FSP members have earned recognized professional credentials in the financial services profession, or are working towards attaining one of the following professional credentials:

   Chartered Advisor for Senior Living (CASL®)

   Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS®)

   Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®)

   Certified Financial Planner (CFP®)

   Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®)

   Chartered Leadership Fellow (CLF®)

   Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®)

   Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

   Certified Pension Consultants (CPC)

   Certified Trust & Financial Advisor (CTFA)

   Enrolled Actuary (EA)

   Juris Doctorate (JD)

   Graduate Degree in Financial Services (MS, MBA, PhD)

   MS degree in Financial Services (MSFS)

   MS degree in Management (MSM)

   Registered Employee Benefits Consultant (REBC®)

   Registered Health Underwriter (RHU®)

 

FSP stands behind the value of continuing education. To that end, we offer Associate membership to those professionals pursuing any of the credentials listed above (and for those who hold the FLMI (Fellow, Life Management Institute), FSS (Financial Services Specialist), or LUTCF (Life Underwriter Training Council) credentials.

 

Associate Membership

Associate membership may be conferred upon any student pursuing a designation or degree recognized for regular membership in the Society who has passed at least one course leading towards the recognized credential.

 

Eligibility for Associate Membership shall cease upon the earlier of the Associate Member attaining eligibility for Regular Membership or 10 years from the date of initial affiliation.  Associate Members may not publicly advertise their membership in the Society.
